To be fair, “move on up” is a piece with chords written not in minor triads but minor 7ths, which have an aspect of a major chord if you discount the root. Since in jazz most of the melody occurs outside the root with different substitutions with like 9ths or something and most of the roots being played with lower tones, the song loses its minor identity which makes its sound more happy, which kinda defeats your argument.

I think that the Tetris theme's character fits quite a few other Russian themes, such as the song Katyusha, which is also in a minor key but uptempo.

I played around with the locrian mode in a soundtrack I made called "Pathmaker" a while back, and I can say that it's pretty dark. I still love it tho, it brings a strong structure for the darkness it conveys. (pathmaker does go off the locrian mode at some parts tho)

Since Money is swung, then the eights in that song are really the triplets, and it's technically 21/8. MAybe that's what the person who claimed it was 7/8 was thinking. Another common 7/8 song was one of the old Sesame Street numbers pieces, a midestern influenced style, and singing the numbers 1 through 10 over a 7 beat measure (and then choosing one of the numbers to focus on).
